Description

Barry Allen wasn't like most other kids when growing up. He came from a broken family, where his father had attempted to kill his mother but was ultimately convicted and placed into prison for life.
As Barry grew up he never really got into sports, infact, he preferred his books to playing outside. He grew a love for Chemistry and Physics.
During high school, and with the encouragement of his mother, Barry tried out for the track team. Though he was slow, the coach saw a perseverance in Barry that was rare.
Barry's track career was short however, as when he entered college and gained several degrees in Physics, Chemistry and Criminology.
After college Barry got a job at the Central City Police department as one of their forensic scientists. He showed excellent promise that caught the eye of several researchers in the field of science and was soon drafted under Dr. Thawne, a leading researcher in the field of Hyper spatial Dimensions.
Barry proved to be an invaluable tool in Thawne's research as breakthroughs became a common occurrence with Barry at the helm of the research. However, when Thawne and Barry discover a dimension that unified the concepts of gravity and electromagnetism the two of them observed the dimension through the particle gateway Barry had invented. But Thawne grew tired of waiting and against Barry's advice, decided to explore the new dimension personally. When Thawne enters the dimension, Barry decides to go along with him and the two enter the Speed Force Dimension for the first time.
But on that night a lighting bolt strikes the lab, knocking out the power and bringing on the back up generators. Barry notices this as the Speed Force starts to reject the outsiders like a virus. Barry and Thawne rush to the portal, however Thawn is unable to keep up and falls through the dimension. Barry, unable to save Thawne, continues on until he reaches the decaying portal and makes it out alive before the Speed Force collapses on him.
Barry's encounter with the Speed Force dimension endowed to him some adverse side-affects.
Barry started to notice his perception of time to alter and his natural metabolism increasing at a rapid rate. Soon, he disovered that he could run a super speeds by 'gliding' along on the naturally occurring electromagnetic waves that exist in our world. But the side effect is extreme dehydration and exhaustion in his daily life. He has to consume or else his body will die.
To fix this, Barry comes up with a filtration system that he can wear to filter his sweat into drinkable water. His suit goes through many prototypes until he comes up with a design that allows him to use his sweat as a water source to be stored into a miniature 'backpack' that also carries an IV system that is hooked up into his body to keep him alive through out his daily life.
Barry secretly used his new ability to make a difference in Central city when he can and the opportunity presents itself but ultimately laid-low from both the public and the law. However, when the Justice League was created he was one of the first to step up and unite the team and becoming a full-fledged hero to the public eye.

The Flash! What kid didn't pretend he was the flash as we would run down the street as fast as our tiny legs would takes us and imagine we are moving at the speed of light. Or on long car rides pretend the Flash was running along side your car?

The Flash is a great character, this goes for all of the Flashes. Barry, Wally, Jay, Bart. Though the actually science behind him...I was never too crazy with how writers explained it. SPEED FORCE! Would be the standard excuse. And, okay, I can take that, but explain to me what the speed force is? Why Lightning? So I figured it could be a spatial region where electromagnetism and gravity met and when Barry interacted with it he was able to not only see the electromagnetic waves but 'glide' on them too.
But then this offers the question of his human ability. He still need to eat and drink and at such a high metabolism that would be difficult, especial in combat. So the ribs you see in the costume are filtration device placed in the areas the human body sweats the most. The ribs filter the sweat into water and place it in his Camel-Back so he can drink whenever he needs too.
Also, I decided to go with a slim runner physique along with minimal 'armor'. Because he's the Flash, He doesn't need armor because he's not planning on getting hit. So I put knee and elbow pads for when he falls and a helmet for safety and the ear pieces are to transfer the Doppler effect of sound so he can still hear when running.

I was contemplating putting a mouth piece, because, come on. Who can breathe at supersonic speeds? But I decided not too for aesthetic reasons and just pretend he has a built in oxygen mask that comes out of his helmet when he runs.

Those fingerless gloves are a problem a huge problem, other than that it is an excellent suit.
